Hola Peeps!...umm... er... Again?

I realise the beautiful irony in the fact that my last post stated that I'm back and all that jazz, and that it was a week ago today. Plus, Preeti asked me to post, and that's not the sort of thing one can just ignore.

So, I'm officially apologising for the delay, just been really dashed with work and all that, what with Bunny Singh deciding to move on to greener pastures... Someone's got to take over her workload, and from the looks of it, the CD thinks it should be me, even though Maniak a.k.a. Che a.k.a. Lady Bastard goofs around in office a lot more than I do. Yeah, it all begins with a casual, "Jhayu, do you have about ten minutes to spare?" and the next thing I know, a week later, Team Leads are being yelled at by Business Development people from Singapore for "not knowing that Jhayu has been assigned to XYZ campaign". It would really be rather amusing if it didn't involve my incarceration in the office.

In any case, I've decided that you guys have suffered long and hard enough (so have my page visits), so here's My Random Observation For The Day:

It's really brilliant how perspectives change. A month ago, if you'd have asked me which is the best seat in a BEST bus, without even a remote competitor, I'd have told you it was the second seat from the right (in that image). You get more wind blowing in, more legroom, fewer people cram into that section of the bus... I could go on and on.

Ask me the same question today, and my answer will be, "the sixth window from the left". And again, this is the best seat by a long, long margin. Why? Simple. The seat is optimally placed to get wind blowing from two windows, but ever more importantly, the overhead light is perfectly placed to allow reading. And believe you me, for someone who only really gets to read in the bus on the way home at somewhere close to 10.30 pm everyday, it's pretty important.

I realise this is not a real post. I have started writing one, one of my stabs at 'serious' writing. Yes, Chusks, it's Part III of The Gap. I'll have it out soon. I swear.

In the meantime, here's a fun thing to do. Read this post again with a British accent.

Phew!

For some reason, I dread Mumbai! Despite not having been there ever!

But then I guess the place has a charm unlike any other......

Good luck at getting the 6th!!!!

Cheers!

This is the reason why i will never stop loving you, Jhayu... you listen Noble Sir, you listen...
(Still has been so accurate in the listening observation)...

second from the right means? driver side or the other side...? driver side has more leg space nai...?

well overhead lights dont make a difference to me because i cant read in buses and cars and autos. i feel pukish. :-(

but you know something you reminded me of the time when i was in college and i would travel in the train to king circle and back home to andheri.

i love bombay. even though externally she has drastically altered. i guess i will always be a bombay girl at heart...

and you've made my day...!!!
:-)

It will be most awaited, Jayant. Do link the first two parts.

You get a seat to sit? you are privileged, you so are! :P

Shrey said...

2nd from the right man.. Thats the only one..! We tall people need our legroom!!

Chintan Padhya said...

As usual i am sure i am missing something here, Something Like 'GAP' i guess. Anyways the best seat in the whole goddamn bus if you ask me would be the seat on the right side of the door when you enter. You see its ideal seat for reading and, is you don't want to read you can check out who is coming in and who is getting down :P.

Preeti said...

i hate seats that face the entire bus...

Che said...

Elo?

I work hard. very hard. all day!
Either that or people are too scared to ask me to work.
Go figure :P

Priyanka said...

when did u start reading in the bus. i thought u only slept.
and what about the first seat behind the back door...wasn't that your best seat

Shrey said...

that IS the second seat from the right, Priyanka?

jhayu said...

@ Rakesh.
Dude. You can't be saying that here and staying safe... Tsk tsk tsk...

And yeah, I followed the trail back to your blog last time only...

@ Preeti.
Fair maiden, there is nothing in this world for me if not to serve. 'Sides, I'd be terrified of crossing you...

And look at the image! I linked it in there so that you could see! It's the second window from the right and the sixth window from the left as in the image!

Kings Circle to Andheri? Did you do that by bus or by train? And yes, once a Bombayite, always a Bombayite.

And, what, my dear lady, do you think this post was for? Hmm?

@ Chusks.
Coming right up, sir.

And I get onto the bus at Bandra station, which is the starting point. Then, I wait till I can get a bus in which I get seating.

@ Chley.
Don't say we. I'm not even in your league...

@ Chinti a.k.a. Kurtnirvana
Nice try. Keep it up; soon, you'll be funny... And please, load the image and see which one I was talking about.

@ Preeti.
You like being all the way up in front, eh?

@ Lady Bastard.
Dude. The only thing you work hard at is looking busy.

@ Pinkesh.
Yeah, that was true, now I do both...

And people PLEASE load the image and see which one I was talking about!!! (= thank you Chley)

You've just made me miss Bombay even more today :(
I'm getting so nostalgic these days...exactly two months more n no more nostalgia, ONLY MONDEGAR! ;)

You know when I was in B'bay, I rarely, really rarely got a seat...had to stand all the way frm S'cruz till 'home'.

How have you been dear?

Sparkling said...

It ain't fun mate, the english accent that is! :)

P.S: I hate these WV's

Mudra said...

Jhayuuuuu! You're back! *cheer*

Eh but unfair post. I protest. It's barely there, and it's about bus seats. Come on. Though the Brit accent thing is funny. :D

Preeti said...

Sweet Knight...when you say such things you make me wish i was many many years younger... :-P

SIGH!!!

ya i saw the image and figured out exactly what you were saying.

King Circle to Andheri by Train darling...there was a direct one that would drop me in 30 minutes flat. used to catch it at 7:07 am.
Man, those were the days...

and i thank you for making sure that sadness and i are miles apart...!!!

:-P

PS: you are adorable, jhayu... seriously..... :-)

jhayu said...

@ Still.
Tsk tsk. Mondegar... So clichéd... Personally, I prefer the stretch of road opposite the Taj that looks over to the sea. Not the side where the ferries are, the other end. It's quiet, and just looking at the sea lapping at the walls... sigh

And with a statement like that, I don't know if you stood for 5 minutes or 3 hours... Also, i clearly said. I wait for a bus that will seat me. = )

And the only reason possible for the reading not to have been fun is if you have a disastrous British accent. Go on. Admit it.

And I've been overworked. Unlike some long-haired rock fans.

@ Muduu.
Ah, oui. J'ai rentré.

And didn't I say April Jhayu was back? That means postlets are allowed. Also, bus seats are a perfectly cool thing to blog about. Ha. So there.

@ Preeti.
Ah, my dear maiden, doth thee not realise? Age is but a number. =P

That train is still around. And I'm pretty sure it doesn't take that long.

And please, thank me not. One is not thanked for fulfilling the purpose of one's existence. = )

Che said...

Damn right. No one has perfect that art as I have, even my team mates ask me if I have too much work. Now thats called good performance. Now where is my oscar?

Long haired rock fan? Isnt that et tu?

WV : pmmmWTFb. No really.

jhayu said...

@ lady Bastard.
Statement: Just because you want to be inefficient doesn't mean that everyone else does.

Meaning: I wish I knew how you did it.

And no, seeing how I listen to other stuff too, I'd be more of a music aficionado. And are we really going to contest who has longer hair? You even trump Bunny Singh on that count now.

And what that WV was really trying to tell you is this: pbbbttt!!! (read = P)

Preeti said...

the cruel world reminds me that age will never be just a number. so i guess i will just fade away pining for you...
:-(

oh the train is still around...? actually na, it would stop at the point between mahim and bandra on the creek...so that used to kinda delay it...the distance is hardly 20 minutes if its a straight drive

but one has to be thanked for being noble enough to make this the purpose of their existence in the first place, right? fulfillment follows that, doesnt it...?

jhayu said...

@ Preeti.
Pshaw! Who cares what the dutty cruel world thinks? I'm supposed to be 21, but as way too many people will vouch, I don't act a day over 7.

And what's ll this rot about fading away? Eh? Nons of the senses.

And yeah, the train still does that; even then, it doesn't take half an hour.

And nah, I don't deal well with compliments and thanks.. Insults are right up my alley!

Preeti said...

then if you go spouting age is number theory this is what you will get understand...
and fair maidens fade and pine ...please...havent you read bronte and austen...

im sorry i cannot insult people...particularly sweet looking ones...was that insulting enough...?

tch...the things i have to do to keep children happy...

jhayu said...

@ Preeti.
No, I haven't, and with good reason, it appears. Silly concepts.

Fair maidens doth not be fair for their skin or for a lack of lines on their faces. They be fair of mind and heart, they be fair of soul.

And yes, at least to the guy I was four years ago, that would have been a major insult. =P

fishbowl said...

I love British accents

Preeti said...

tch...it is obvious that you havent read them and you havent read me either...

by fade i dont mean physically fade...even thoughts and the will to live fade understand...

oh so it is no longer an insult...?
arrey...i cant think of anything else to insult you, man...

jhayu said...

@ fishbowl.
Firstly, welcome!

And yeah, don't they sound brilliant rolling off your tongue?

@ Preeti.
Thoughts, I'm okay with, even though I don't agree entirely. But we'll get back to that.

Will to live? What's happening there? Tsk tsk... Will you not understand that you are eternal and undying to me?

And you should know, the reason I'm so bad with poetry is because I can't understand it. =' (

And, oh, don't try so hard... say anything, and just for you, I'll pretend like it was an insult!! = )

Preeti said...

Ya we'll get back to that...

eternal and undying... :-) sigh!!!
sadly you are the only who has mentioned this sentiment in my context...

oh then forget about poetry...i promise not to mention it again...

ya right...
how does superbrat sound!!! thats about as insulting as i can get...

:-P

jhayu said...

@ Preeti.
Oh pshaw! anyone who knows you must express the same sentiment...

And you can mention poetry.. Even write it! Please! I must always keep trying!

And superbrat sounds, well, super! Plus you have NO idea how close it is to my msn id.

Sparkling said...

Clichés you say, dear, they become clichés only coz they are so damn good! That cliché has seen quite some ‘moments’ ;)

Sigh! You like all that? Gawd! You’re one helluva romantic too, so yeah, I won’t u’stand you coz I’m quite challenged in that area.

And I admit, I’m horrible at the accent :D Awwww, I only hope you get overpaid too :)

jhayu said...

@ Still.
Actually, truth be told, I've never even been to Mondegar. Lopold's, yes, Mondegar, no.

And yes, I'm pretty clichéd in my own way, I guess..

Aha! I knew it! Tell you what, use one of those speech from text thingies to listen to it.. It's awesomeness.

And that last sentence is the biggest funny I have seen in a long, long time. I get paid a third of what Lady Bastard gets. I'm just a trainee =(

And I work extra hours and public holidays. How suicidal am I?

Preeti said...

:-) sigh!!!

ok...in that case i'll surely continue mentioning it...

sheeesh...i cant even insult properly...
maybe i should i take some lessons from you and che...

jhayu said...

@ Preeti.
What are you talking about? Superbrat is awesome! And you think that msn id I was talking about was voluntary? It was made by an elder cousin who felt it would be cool to make that my id so he could make fun of me in the future, which he did, rather endlessly!

Preeti said...

its hardly an insult, jhayu...
:-(

oh you have such brothers too ha...? well at least it was an elder cousin...
in my case ... its my younger brother who's been doing the bullying...he still does...

jhayu said...

@ Preeti.
Haw! And you allow it?

Preeti said...

yep...

its because i love him
:-P

jhayu said...

@ Preeti.
Yeah, we younger kids always get away with that...

Preeti said...

you bet...

he is the emperor of the brat pack...and i pamper him silly...and i am paying for it with interest...

jhayu said...

@ Preeti.
Now see, there's your mistake. Take it from a younger sibling. You can't give us an inch. We'll take a couple of kilometres.

Preeti said...

i am cribbing and all but well...i
am crazy about him so there...

you know we still have spit fights and slap fights...we are disgustingly juvenile...and there is this game we still play in which the fist one to touch mom wins...and we push and run and trample on older bullier sibling's toes and get royally plastered...EVEN TODAY...
and if mom is cooking and we fall all over her and if dad happens to see us do this...he hits the ceiling and almost starts splitting blood vessels...

Spit Fight is when the other person is not aware and you spit on him and slap fight is the same...oh man that really hurts and ears start ringing...ouch...

its not as though he doesnt pamper me either.... so the feeling of love is mutual...

jhayu said...

@ Preeti.
I've heard of everything but the spit fight. Damn. That does not sound pretty. But hey, whatever builds the love, I always say...

Preeti said...

ya...you bet...
ohhhh.... slap fight is even uglier...and since im dreaming most of the time i get most of the slaps...cheh...
